Community Outreach
Ministry of SHOFAR’s Community Outreach reflects years of serving our community through faith-rooted action, relationships, and practical care. Our outreach work grows out of a commitment to meet real needs with compassion, stewardship, and integrity.
While our efforts have taken many forms over the years, we are continuing to strengthen and organize this work to ensure it remains sustainable, responsive, and rooted in service.
Our Approach
Ministry of SHOFAR approaches community outreach as an extension of faith in action. We believe caring for people includes addressing spiritual, relational, and practical needs through consistent service and responsible stewardship.
Our outreach efforts are guided by recognizing needs in the community, building relationships, and responding where support is most needed. Rather than focusing on short-term solutions, we aim to cultivate long-term impact that strengthens individuals, families, and the broader community for generatons to come.
Areas of Service
Our community outreach goals include initiatives and efforts in the following areas:
-
Support for families and individuals
-
Volunteer-driven service projects
- Community education and skill-building
-
Food access and nourishment
-
Stewardship of land and resources
How We Serve
Ministry of SHOFAR serves the community through partnerships, volunteer involvement, and practical action. Much of our work happens through trusted relationships with local churches, families, and community members.
Some outreach efforts are informal and relational, while others are more structured. Together, they reflect a commitment to meeting needs with humility, care, and consistency.
RELATIONAL OUTREACH INFRASTRUCTURE
Our community outreach is rooted in GOD’s original design for HIS people to walk in unity—many parts, ONE BODY (1 Corinthians 12:12). We believe the Ecclesia (Church) most clearly reflects the truth of GOD’s Kingdom when ministries and churches choose relationship over isolation and collaboration over competition. YESHUA (JESUS) prayed that we would be ONE, so that the world would know HIM (John 17:21), and we take that calling seriously!
Our goal is to intentionally partner with other believers, local churches, ministries, and like-minded organizations to support shared passions and initiatives. Each person and ministry carries unique gifts and strengths, and when those gifts are joined together, the BODY of MESSIAH becomes stronger, more complete, and more impactful (Ephesians 4:16). Our heart is not to duplicate efforts, but to come alongside what GOD is already doing—sharing resources, building trust, and strengthening unity within the community.
Through relational unity and shared action, we desire to see the BODY of MESSIAH walk together in love, power, and purpose—demonstrating GOD’s Kingdom in both word and deed.
PRACTICAL OUTREACH INFRASTRUCTURE
Our community outreach is rooted in GOD’s original design for HIS people to walk in unity—many parts, ONE BODY (1 Corinthians 12:12).
This unity is meant to be expressed through tangible action. As the needs of our communities shift and evolve, we seek to respond together in practical ways that bring lasting impact. Currently, with rising food costs and growing economic pressures, we are working with partners to help establish long-term, sustainable food sources throughout Iowa—including food forests, regenerative gardens, and community-based growing initiatives. These efforts support existing organizations while addressing real needs in ways that are life-giving and enduring, reflecting GOD’s heart for provision, stewardship, and shared care (Genesis 2:15; Acts 2:44–47).
Through relational unity and shared action, we desire to see the BODY of MESSIAH walk together in love, power, and purpose—demonstrating GOD’s Kingdom in both word and deed.
